December

December has moved quicker than I thought it would.
P. was busy with Christmas parties at work and I was busy with Advent and Christmas services at church!
M. and A. enjoyed all that the season had to offer which for them featured Christmas songs and Christmas lights.
This year we went to the opening of the Lions Festival of Lights despite the cold temperatures. A. thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks display. Hopefully we'll have another walk around before the lights go off again!
The other wonderful thing is that A. has taken a shine to many a Christmas carol during the season, repeatedly singing Jingle Bells and Jingle Bell Rock.
Christmas was spent with my sister and her family and we enjoyed the wonder that is Christmas for the kids :)
It is often hard to get my head around how different Christmas is so far in our family tradition from what I was used to growing up. I love that it is something that can have some similarities but to continue to evolve into my own children's history.
I find myself thinking about a lot of old friends this season. Maybe 2013 is a year of reconnection to things that matter most.
Here's to a blessed New Year filled with love.
xoxo
